Exfoliate and do any shaving or waxing at least 24 hours beforehand. On the day, come with clean skin — no moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or makeup — and wear loose, dark clothing and slip-on shoes.
Booking for an event? Allow a day or two between your tan and the big day so it has time to settle.
After your tan
Avoid water, exercise and sweating until your first rinse — your therapist will tell you how long to leave your tan to develop. After that, pat skin dry, moisturise daily and skip harsh scrubs to keep your glow even for longer.
